Sarah Geronimo shines brightly in her latest big role in the movie "Miss Granny."
So far, this is Sarah's most unique movie role. Unlike her leading lady roles who always gets her happily ever after, Sarah portrays a 70-year old woman who got stuck in the body of her 20-year old self.
As seen in the film's teaser, Fely de Leon (Nova Villa) was not the most lovable old person in the world. She's grumpy, she's always got something to say and she is aslo causing her daughter-in-law, Angie (Lotlot de Leon) a LOT of stress.
Later on, Angie falls ill and the doctor advised that she should avoid everything the might cause her stress. As a result, Fely's son, Ramoncito (Nonie Buencamino) planned to take her temporarily to a shelter for old people just until his wife gets well.
The very lonely Fely then walks idly around the city until she sees this portrait studio. She enters to have her photo taken and walks away 50 years younger!
She then named herself Audrey and takes the opportunity to live her life once again and fulfill her dreams of becoming a singer.
Netizens and movie critics are all saying the same thing, this is Sarah's best performance in a film to date!
In the review posted by Cosmo.ph, the author mentioned that no other artist could have portrayed this role better than Sarah.
"In my opinion, this was her best performance as an actress to date. No other local female celebrity has the combination of characteristics required for the roleóimpeccable comedic timing, a talent for drama, a powerful singing voice, and an old soul with an almost manang charm. Sarah was so believable as a 70-year-old woman inside a 20-year-old's body."
Moviegoers and netizens have also been raving about this movie since it started showing.
